HIGH-COUNTRY TERROIR
A winter's morning above the clouds
A little piece of heaven meets earth
Cool mountain air, fresh and unpolluted, drifts over our sun-drenched vineyard. The North facing slopes protect our vines from frosts catching the precious rainwater feeding the red clay topsoil, then finally drain through 200 metres of granitic sand into the King Parrot Creek below. A tributary of the mighty Goulburn River and one holding some of the best wild trouts in Victoria. This is the journey which creates our vines' unique varietal qualities, allowing them to breathe, grow and fully develop their own very special and complex fruit characters. Ones further fostered by great hardship and struggle in the sometimes extreme weather conditions of our high-country vineyard.
